Art is a language capable of condensing multiple abstract emotions and ideas into a single image or object. The goal of my art has always been to perfect that translation.

The Artist
I, Jennifer Robertson, am a lifelong nomad, multidisciplinary artist and teacher. I left the graphic design aspect of my art in 2020 to fully devote myself to fine art and the art of living.
My Work
Masks have been the primary focus of my fine art since 1976. They are ancient and live at the root of every culture, tools to engage with unseen forces. Masks are modern, used both to conceal and to reveal identity.

The Blog
Third Act In A Backpack began as a travel blog, focusing on independent and inexpensive travel. I’ve neglected it, as the documentation interrupted the joy of adventure. Who knows? Perhaps I’ll come back to it one day. Over my years of solo travel, I have written copiously and taken plenty of photos.
The blog includes posts detailing my late brother, Andrew Robertson’s, art collection. Andy spent most of his 69 years collecting art. A construction executive, his work took him across the globe. Along the way, he collected over 200 works of art, primarily etchings and lithographs. The Impressionists featured heavily, including seventeen etchings and lithographs by Renoir. Architecture was also a focus, particularly the engravings of Roman ruins by Piranesi and Rossini.
The works shown are those not chosen by our siblings which we put up for sale. We donated what remained to the Special Collections of Bizzell Memorial Library. They are available on request to aspiring artists, architects and other interested parties.
Shifting Focus
Web design requires me to work from the left side of my brain, rather than the creative right side. Because of that, I’ve chosen to spend more time making art and less on this website.
For examples of my writing and web design, please see the Kiss of the Wolf. website. I redesigned it and produced and wrote all entries, including the blog, from May, 2018 until April 1, 2020. While there, I also created their emails and social media posts.
